Bamboo is a grass. It is not suitable for flooring

FACT

Because it is a grass, it is ideal for flooring as the grain runs the length of the board. Avoid inferior or inappropriate bamboo selection, the use of bamboo that is either harvested too young or not properly dried. This can lead to cupping, warping and swelling of the material.

Insist on Bamboozle patented stabilised bamboo flooring.

Bamboo floors are mostly glue

Only inferior bamboo flooring manufacturers may use excessive cheap and/or toxic glues.

Bamboozle uses kiln-dried bamboo that is at least 5 years old, hand-chosen and glued using eco-friendly, non-toxic adhesives.

Using bamboo robs endangered pandas of their Food.

Pandas neither inhabit nor eat the Moso species of Bamboo used by Bamboozle. Bamboo is eco-friendly. As a grass, Bamboo is a renewable resource. Bamboozle bamboo flooring is grown without herbicides, chemical fertilisers or pesticides.

Because Bamboo is a round pole, it will cup (warp).

Bamboozle bamboo flooring is stabilised. It is hand-selected and kiln-dried to strict specifications. Comprising three layers, the top layer is selected for its visual consistency, so it is without blemishes. The middle layer while from the same plant is less visually satisfying but equally hard. Manufactured to strict specifications, the bottom layer is the least visually presentable. Each layer is glued under pressure with an eco-friendly adhesive. This patented process delivers enormous strength and stability. The top, bottom and sides are sealed with multiple layers of polyurethane. The result is that Bamboozle bamboo floors will not cup (curl), warp, bend or swell in your home.

Bamboo floors cannot be
re-sanded.
Professionally installed by Bamboozle-trained and accredited installers to a solid, level and dry concrete floor, Bamboozle bamboo floors can be sanded and refinished up to five times under normal wear circumstances. Heavily trafficked areas in the home may be less. Floating bamboo floors may not be re-sanded.

Bamboo Floors may be easily scratched or dented.

Scratches tend to occur only in the surface polish as a result of grit caught in the treads of boots or shoes, or loose sand and dirt. You can prevent scratches by removing stones and grit from shoe treads and taking off high heel shoes that have sharp points. Regularly moved furniture should be fitted with base-pads of felt. Non-felted furniture should be either carried or placed on a thick rug to move. Keep rugs or mats near the entrance to your home and place a mat at the sink.

Bamboo floors are difficult to clean.

Not so. Regularly remove surface dirt and dust using a fine broom or a dust mop. Fifteen years of experience has shown that cleaning Bamboozle Bamboo floors with micro fibre floor mops and a light spray of water is most successful.

To clean up spills, fill a spray bottle with a vinegar solution, and spray the area before wiping it. Dry the area immediately.

Polish away any streaks. Drying the floor with a towel helps to polish the floor and remove any marks left from the dampness of the mop or cloth. Never use an oil-based cleaner.

Do not use Vacuums with a beater bar. Do not use ammoniated or abrasive cleaners.

Bamboo floors are hard to maintain

Not if you remove grit trapped in boot and shoe treads. It is also prudent to take off sharply pointed high heel shoes. The advent of micro-fibre technology and robotic vacuum cleaners has revolutionised the cleaning of polished floors. Some customers choose to place rugs or runners in high traffic areas and at each doorway. Clean or shake out the rugs regularly. Take care of stains quickly and properly. Use a damp cloth. Scrubbing or rubbing the floor aggressively will harm the finish and the wood.

You can not use a steam cleaner on a bamboo floor?

True. Definitely not recommended. It may warp the boards.

Special hint: How to remove gum from a bamboo floor

Apply ice to harden the gum and then slowly peel off. Remove any remaining water and residue using a 1:4 vinegar water solution.
